Month-to-month for PCS
PCS orders don’t care about your lease end date. Month-to-month availability means you’re not locked into a 12-month commitment—rare in Hillcrest, and a practical choice for active-duty timelines.
SCRA early lease termination
If you sign a longer-term lease and receive PCS or deployment orders, the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act protects your right to terminate early. We honor SCRA termination—no penalties, no pushback. Provide your orders and written notice, and the lease terminates 30 days after the next rent due date.

Cosigners welcome, no credit-score cutoff
E-1 through E-4 often have thin credit files. We look at overall payment history, not a single number. BAH counts toward the 2.5× rent income requirement. Cosigners and guarantors are always accepted—a parent, spouse, or anyone willing to co-sign.
Gated courtyard on a cul-de-sac
Controlled-access courtyard entry, on a cul-de-sac off the main through-streets. No on-site leasing office means no foot traffic through the building.
Assigned parking
Reserved uncovered ($60/mo) and covered carport ($80/mo) parking available. You’ll need a car for base, but not for much else—Walk Score 93 means daily errands are on foot.

Hillcrest is walkable, inclusive, and full of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and parks. When you’re off duty, you’re in one of San Diego’s best neighborhoods—not staring at a parking lot.

Marine Corps
MCRD trains over 21,000 recruits a year, 12 minutes away. MCAS Miramar (3rd Marine Aircraft Wing) is 17 minutes. Camp Pendleton (I Marine Expeditionary Force) is 36 minutes north.
Coast Guard
Sector San Diego is 9 minutes from Hillcrest Place. San Diego has been an official Coast Guard City since 2017—the largest city to hold the designation.

Balboa Park is a short drive—1,200 acres of trails, gardens, museums, and the Zoo. Beaches are 11–14 minutes by car.
